A week after Thanksgiving

Last week was a bit of a let-down on the weight loss front...only one pound lost. Definitely not the great start that I was hoping for. Good news is that if I can lose a pound the week of Thanksgiving, maybe I can stay on track to lose the weight that I am hoping to and to keep it off indefinitely.

I was pretty good last week with how much I ate, how much I drank (though I believe that it was the wine and booze that kept me from losing more weight), and making sure to exercise a bit most every day. This week, I am doing very well, I think. I have already had two very good days of healthy eating and really good exercise. Hopefully this week the scale will show the dedication that I feel a bit more than last week.

Today is "Giving Tuesday" so I have set up a Fundraiser on Facebook for Big City Mountaineers, since it is the Longs Peak climb that I am using for motivation in my efforts to get back in shape. The campaign has raised $450 so far, and Facebook is potentially going to match some or all of it. I am proud of my family and friends who made a donation to help support the kids.

I went for a long walk today in Austin, TX at the Hamilton Pool Park. It was really beautiful! I wish that we had more things like that in Houston.
